ShotPro wasn't designed in a Silicon Valley lab by people who've never set foot in a shooting range. It was built by range operators, technology veterans, and industry insiders who've spent decades at the intersection of commerce and community.
Jeff James has spent 25+ years building businesses at the intersection of technology, entertainment, and commerce. Before co-founding ShotPro, Jeff built and led Vista14, a marketing and technology services firm that provided strategic marketing, digital transformation, and customer acquisition services directly to shooting ranges and firearms retailers — giving him a front-row seat to the industry's technology gap.
That firsthand experience working inside range operations is what led to ShotPro. Jeff saw the same problem repeated at range after range: fragmented tools, disconnected data, and marketing platforms that either didn't understand the firearms industry or actively worked against it.
Jeff's career spans senior leadership roles at Atlantic Records, Sony, HP, CDW, Logitech, and GE Capital. He founded CXO5 Partners, a strategic advisory firm, and brings deep expertise in go-to-market strategy, partnership development, and capital formation.
Ken Baye is one of the few people in the firearms technology space who has actually run a range. As founder and president of Stoddard's Range and Guns in Atlanta, Ken spent 15+ years operating one of the Southeast's premier shooting facilities — managing everything from daily operations and FFL compliance to membership programs, retail, and events. He successfully exited Stoddard's through a private sale to Freedom Outdoors in 2024.
That operational experience is ShotPro's secret weapon. Every feature in the platform was pressure-tested against the question: "Would this actually work on a Saturday afternoon at a busy range?" Ken's answer is the one that counts.
Before entering the firearms industry, Ken spent 34+ years in real estate law and strategic development — including 15+ years at The Home Depot overseeing strategic development across a third of the United States with an $800M+ annual budget. Ken maintains deep relationships across the firearms industry including NSSF, USCCA, and major distributors. He has personally invested over $550,000 into ShotPro and takes no salary.
Marc Tillery leads ShotPro's technology organization, overseeing product development, platform architecture, and the engineering team that builds and maintains every layer of the platform — from web and mobile applications to kiosk systems, ShotPro TV digital signage, and API integrations.
Marc Tillery brings over 25 years of technology and digital strategy experience to his role as Vice President of Technology at ShotPro. With a career spanning web development, mobile application development, IT leadership, and strategic consulting, Marc has built and scaled technology operations across multiple industries — from interactive media to live entertainment.
A 6-year United States Army veteran, Marc brings military discipline and operational rigor to software development. His engineering approach prioritizes reliability, scalability, and real-world performance — because range management software doesn't get the luxury of "we'll fix it in the next sprint" when your check-in system goes down on a Saturday.
Beyond the founding team, ShotPro's leadership includes experienced operators across sales, client services, and marketing — the people who ensure every range gets onboarded, every campaign gets launched, and every customer relationship gets managed.
Most software companies recruit advisors from other software companies. ShotPro's advisors and investors are range owners and operators who use the platform, invest in the company, and stake their industry reputation on its success.
This isn't a marketing narrative. It's a structural advantage. Every major product, pricing, and messaging decision at ShotPro is validated by people who actually run ranges.
